Things change and nothing ever remains the same. A family, a household that grew up with laughter and love wilts under the weight of egos and self interests of growing children who are now adults. कहने को घर अब भी है

कहने को घर अब भी है, पर
उस से छूट गई कुछ चीजें।

आते–जाते हवा कि जैसे
अटक गई है बालकनी में
सूंघ गया है सांप फर्श को
दर्द बढ़ा छत की धमनी में
हर जाने–आने वाले पर
हंसती रहती हैं दहलीजें।

कब आया कैसे आया पर
यह बदलाव साफ़ है अब तो
मौसम इतना हुआ बेरहम
कुछ भी नहीं माफ़ है अब तो
बादल घिरते किंतु न लगता
मिलकर नेह–मेघ में भींजे।

दीवारों में शुरू हो गई
कुछ उल्टी–सीधी सी बातें
कुछ तो है गड़बड़ जरूर जो
दिन–दिन भर जागी हैं रातें
अंदर आने लगे करिश्मे
बाहर जाने लगी तमीजें।
