Here is a famous composition of sant Kabir Das, a nirguni saint of 15th century, who lived in Banaras. In the present composition Kabir points out how fleeting the life is. Be it a prophet, a King, divine personalities, common people, doctor and patients, all eventually die. This is indeed a world of dead people. The ultimate truth is the all-pervasive and everlasting Parmatma and nothing else real is there in the universe. This fleeting life is well spent only in our attempts to seek unity with this Ultimate. Rajiv Krishna Saxena

  1. I love this poem by Kabir. Very apt description of the world that everyone is dead whether King or commoner, gods or gurus. There is only one truth and no one should die without realizing that.

  2. It explain entire universe, life and the ultimate truth. Beauty of this poem is beyond words.

  3. So true for Covid pandemic. Many died, seer and devotee; leaders and followers; doctors and patients all alike.
