With this article, I wish to start a series of articles that would follow very basics of the great thought process that characterizes the essential ethos of the Indian civilization. This unique civilization has continued in an uninterrupted fashion for thousands of years in the area south of the great Himalayas and the East of the river Sindhu. Population in this land mass has always been engrossed with questions about the nature and purpose of human life, and therefore this area has been the most fertile breeding ground for a wide spectrum of religions and philosophies of life. Purpose here is to give the interested general readers a glimpse of these thoughts so that a greater awareness of our unique spiritual heritage may be created. Since I am a scientist by profession, you may expect a more scientific interpretations of the thoughts. Feed-back from readers is encouraged.
