Sanjaya was given the divine power by Lord Krishna to watch the great Mahabharat War and recite the events to Dhritarashtra, the blind father of Kaurava brothers. Geeta actually starts with Dhritarashtra asking Sanjaya, Tell me Sanjaya, what did my sons (Kauravas) and Panduís sons (Pandavas) did in the battle field where they had gone with the intention of fierce battle? The short poem below describes the mental status of Dhritarashtra on the evening of the first day of battle, awaiting Sanjayaís return with all information. This poem is a part of "Geeta Kavya Madhuri", a translation of complete Geeta into Hindi Verses by Prof. Rajiv K. Saxena .
